The 69th Edition of the Miss World pageant is set to take place on 14th December in LONDON

in less than one month, over 150 countries will be represented on the miss world stage which has seen women from many parts of the world participating for the glittering crown. While beauty is loaded with subjectivity, Miss World is said to be a global standard for what true beauty is all about. Not just beauty but with Purpose. it brings beauty Queens from all over different countries with different diversities, cultures, beliefs, music, food with the sole purpose of uniting them to bring about a change in their societies

Miss World is the oldest running international beauty pageant . It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley’s widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth, this pageant is one of the Big Four International Big Pageants—the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions.

The current Miss World is Vanessa Ponce of Mexico who was crowned on 8 December 2018 in Sanya, China. She is the first Mexican woman to win Miss World.

 

The Miss World 2019 Pageant will hold on 14 December 2019 in London, England. Julia Morley said “London is the greatest city in the world to visit. It’s where Miss World started in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations and this year, we are going to put on the best show ever.

Nyekachi Douglas” will be representing the “Giant of Africa” (NIGERIA) on the international stage, Nyekachi emerged winner at the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria which held on the 11th of October at Gabriel Okara Cultural centre, Yenegoa Bayelsa. she is 21 years of age, 6ft 2inches tall and hails from Ibaa in Emohauh local government, Rivers State.

Nyekachi is so excited as she hopes to bring the Miss world title home and repeat history again

Miss WORLD has been running for over sixty- eight years and has been involved in a series of fast track events that guarantees a place in the top 30. These include Multimedia, Sport, Talent, Top model, Head to Head Challenge and Beauty With A Purpose.

Agbani Darego” became the first black African to win the “Miss World” title at Sun City Entertainment Centre, Sun city, South Africa on the 16th of November 2001

The 2002 pageant was originally to be held in Abuja, Nigeria but was relocated back to the United Kingdom after a midst of riots in that area.

Since 1951, the pageant has produced several Miss world titleholders, India & Venezuela with the highest “Miss World” titles (Six times)
